New Delhi: Battlegrounds Mobile India BGMI) has launched a new digital storytelling series, Beyond Battlegrounds, with an initial focus on a railway technician from Rajasthan who built a full-scale replica of the game’s iconic buggy using scrap parts.

The first short film under this initiative follows the story of 28-year-old Karan Kargwal from Sri Ganganagar, who constructed the buggy atop the roof of his modest home. A railway technician by profession, Kargwal reverse-engineered the vehicle using only a 3D model and a few in-game screenshots, documenting the process of night-time welding under desert conditions and the use of discarded mechanical parts.

“This buggy is more than metal and wheels. It’s proof that when passion meets purpose, unexpected dreams can come alive,” says Karan in the film.

Conceptualised in collaboration with Veeville Consulting, the video is designed as a cinematic portrayal of how gaming intersects with real-life ingenuity. The storytelling blends visual styles from both gaming and documentary filmmaking to create what the creators describe as an immersive experience reflecting “lived gaming passion”.

“Karan’s story is a shining example of the passion and talent emerging from Rajasthan,” said Saurabh Shah, Head of People Operations, KRAFTON India. “His story is not just inspiring, it has the potential to set a strong example for countless others who dare to dream beyond limitations. Through Beyond Battlegrounds, we are proud to champion voices like his that are redefining what gaming culture means in India’s heartland.”

“Among everything we’ve worked on, this film stood out with its emotional intensity, authenticity, and grassroots resonance, it literally stops you in your tracks. Collaborating with KRAFTON on this was incredibly rewarding, not just because of the story we got to tell, but because of the shared vision to celebrate creators from the heart of India in the most honest way possible,” added Dhruva Vorkady, Creative Strategist at Veeville Consulting.
