New Delhi: Manyavar and Mohey Fashion have launched a wedding-focused show on YouTube titled The Manyavar Shaadi Show. The series is hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and explores contemporary Indian weddings through conversations with couples and industry professionals.
Structured as a six-episode series, the show brings together real couples, celebrity guests, stylists, photographers, make-up artists and fitness experts to discuss different aspects of wedding planning and presentation. The format centres on personal experiences, practical considerations and evolving trends around Indian shaadis, from pre-wedding ceremonies to post-wedding celebrations.
The first episode features actors Kriti Kharbanda and Pulkit Samrat, who speak about their wedding journey, including how their plans took shape and the choices they made along the way. The discussion also includes wedding planner Devika Narain, founder of Devika Narain & Company, who reflects on the creative and logistical elements that go into large-scale Indian weddings.
A recent episode includes content creator Komal Pandey, alongside celebrity stylist Anisha Jain and make-up artist Kajol Paswwan. The episode focuses on wedding fashion, styling decisions and personal presentation during the wedding season. Topics discussed include outfit selection, accessories, skincare and make-up preparation, as well as common styling missteps observed at weddings.
Pandey discusses wedding styling choices, focusing on how personal history is increasingly shaping bridal looks. She notes a growing trend of brides incorporating their mother’s or grandmother’s jewellery, describing such choices as emotionally resonant and visually distinctive. Pandey also reflects on moving beyond dominant pastel palettes, suggesting a renewed openness towards richer colours and bolder expressions in wedding wear.
Released during the peak wedding season, the six episode follows a conversational, podcast-style format, with discussions centred on evolving bridal aesthetics rather than prescriptive trends. The focus remains on how individuals interpret tradition, colour and heirloom pieces in ways that reflect personal identity within contemporary Indian weddings.
