New Delhi: Stand-up comic and streamer Samay Raina has returned with another brand collaboration, this time with Airlearn, a language learning app developed by Unacademy. The latest film unfolds inside an aircraft, transforming a routine flight announcement into a comedic take on India’s linguistic diversity.
The one-minute spot opens with passengers from different regions demanding announcements in their own languages. As confusion builds, Raina steps in to translate in Marathi and Kannada, languages he unexpectedly knows. When a Tamil-speaking passenger objects, he jokes that he will learn Tamil in a few days using Airlearn. The scene escalates until he calls for reinforcement, fellow comedian Kunal Kamra.
Kamra enters dressed in a traditional white dhoti with a gold border and trademark black sunglasses, instantly lightening the mood. When the air hostess asks where he learned Tamil, Kamra pauses before Raina interjects, crediting Airlearn. The gag continues with Kamra quipping about needing a ride home to Tamil Nadu, prompting the pilot’s closing line: “Abhi Tamil Nadu kaise pahochega bhai?”
Written by Raina himself, the film leans on satire and self-awareness, referencing real-life moments involving both comedians. Its humour-driven narrative draws attention for its writing and meta-comedy, while subtly questioning how effectively the brand message translates amid the laughter.
Raina has been actively featuring in brand campaigns over the past few months, often infusing them with a similarly self-referential tone.
From established brands such as boAt, Bold Care, and Knorr to emerging startups like Urban Jungle Bags and Deconstruct Skincare, Raina has recently appeared in multiple campaigns, reflecting how comedians are increasingly being featured in digital-led brand storytelling.
