Meet India’s viral AI monkey vloggers trekking from Himachal to Haridwar

New Delhi: Artificial intelligence is carving out new territory in India’s digital content space, with virtual characters now drawing millions of views across social media platforms. Two AI-generated Instagram accounts, Tekno Vlogs and Vlogger Babloo AI, are gaining rapid traction for producing fully animated, narrative-driven vlogs that mimic the format and tone of real-world creators.

Tekno Vlogs (@technomacaque) features a digitally animated monkey designed to behave like a travel influencer. The character is shown trekking through Himachal Pradesh, preparing food outdoors, and narrating fictional events in a vlog-style voiceover. Styled in human-like clothing and mannerisms, the character frequently breaks the fourth wall with the repeated line, “Humans are calling me AI, but I am real.”

In one reel, the monkey is seen journeying deep into the forest, reuniting with a fictional dog named Kallu and collecting ‘lingdu’ (fiddlehead ferns), which the narration calls a “forest delicacy.”

The account, which currently has fewer than 20 posts, has already attracted more than 77,000 followers, and its videos continue to gain viral momentum.

Meanwhile, Vlogger Babloo AI (@vloggerbabloo_ai) uses an animated humanoid figure to document fictional journeys across India. One of the account’s most-viewed reels—garnering more than 77 million views and 6.4 million likes—depicts the character on a virtual pilgrimage to Haridwar. The reel includes digital recreations of Har Ki Pauri, a ritual bath in the Ganges, and the evening aarti.

Despite having only 10 posts, the Babloo account has amassed over 151,000 followers. The reels use voiceovers, animated landscapes, and motion graphics to simulate real-life travel content.

Both accounts clarify that their content is entirely AI-generated. In the case of Babloo, the profile states, “This content uses no real animals. Created with respect and creativity for all living beings.”

The popularity of these accounts reflects a growing trend in the creator economy, where artificial intelligence and storytelling intersect. These digital characters blur the line between real and virtual experiences, combining humour, local cultural elements, and emotional narratives within short-form video formats.

Although still relatively limited in number, accounts like Tekno Vlogs and Vlogger Babloo AI have attracted high engagement across social media platforms. With advancements in AI animation and voice synthesis tools, virtual characters are now being used to produce influencer-style content without relying on real individuals or physical locations.
