New Delhi: Rooter, a game streaming platform, has recorded a 120% year-on-year revenue growth for the financial year 2025, reporting $10 million (Rs 82 crore), up from $4.5 million (Rs 38 crore) in FY24. The increase is attributed to the platform’s expansion into gaming commerce and the development of new user monetisation streams, alongside ongoing contributions from existing brand and publisher channels.
The company, which is currently tracking an annual revenue run rate (ARR) of $24 million, aims to grow nearly fourfold by FY26. It also claims to have reduced its losses by 63% over the past year, with expectations of achieving profitability within the current financial year.
Rooter has built a user base of over 85 million gamers and recently entered the gaming commerce segment. The company has introduced the “Rooter Shop,” offering gaming currencies, vouchers, and gift cards to users. According to the company, the new business vertical has quickly become a major revenue contributor, with average monthly user spending on the platform reported at approximately Rs 2,400.
The company’s push into in-app transactions aligns with broader market trends. According to a report cited by Rooter, the Indian in-app purchase market—valued at $300 million three years ago—is projected to exceed $1 billion this year and reach $4.3 billion by 2029.
Speaking on Rooter’s shift towards commerce, Piyush, Founder & CEO of Rooter, said,“Rooter’s expansion into gaming commerce will create and amplify growth opportunities for all new and established games and publishers who wish to scale with India’s fast-growing paying gaming audience. Over the next 12 months, we aim to maintain our leadership in the gaming content space and continue with the exponential pace of growth of Rooter Shop - expecting to hit $90 million GMV run rate by March'26.”
