Mumbai: Amul marks the fifth anniversary of Simplehomemaderecipes, the world’s longest-running live cooking show. It started in April 2020 as a response to the Covid-19 lockdown, offering chefs and home cooks a platform to share their skills, stories, and recipes with audiences worldwide.

This series has featured over 4,000 chefs including Michelin star chefs, Thomas A. Gugler, Former President, Worldchefs and home cooks from more than 50 countries. With over 10,000 live episodes over more than 1830 days, Simplehomemaderecipes has reached 5 billion viewers both in India and across the world through its social media platforms. The initiative has generated over 4.5 lakh minutes of curated content in five languages, with a remarkable 540 million minutes of viewership.

This milestone comes during the International Year of Cooperatives, celebrating the cooperative movement’s contribution to inclusive growth and community empowerment.

Jayen Mehta, Managing Director, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (Amul), said, “At a time when the hospitality industry faced enormous challenges, and people were confined to their homes during Covid, Amul’s live cooking sessions brought the expertise and warmth of chefs directly to people’s kitchens. In the true spirit of our cooperative heritage, Simplehomemaderecipes has brought together people from all walks of life, celebrating food as a connector.”

As a tribute to the chefs and home cooks, digital posters featuring them will be showcased on digital billboards across Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi today.
