New Delhi: AWL Agri Business (formerly Adani Wilmar) has launched ‘Qisse Kuchh Khaas’, a Kohinoor-branded coffee-table book that traces the cultural, historical and culinary stories of Basmati rice and biryani—from royal courts to everyday Indian kitchens.
The book was unveiled at World Food India 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, by Chirag Paswan, Minister of Food Processing Industries, and Angshu Mallick, MD & CEO, AWL Agri Business, in the presence of Chef Kunal Kapur.
Authored by Prof. Pushpesh Pant with contributions from Chef Kunal Kapur, the volume pairs narrative essays with 15 handpicked recipes, positioning Basmati as both staple and symbol, deeply woven into festivals, rituals and everyday celebrations. The launch was organised in association with FICCI and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI).
Angshu Mallick, MD & CEO, AWL Agri Business, said, “Kohinoor has always stood for authenticity, tradition and taste. With Qisse Kuchh Khaas, we celebrate the timeless journey of Basmati, heritage, nostalgia and a shared cultural bond, on a platform that showcases India’s food legacy to the world.”
Prof. Pushpesh Pant, author: “Basmati is perhaps the most eloquent example of India’s culinary identity. This book chronicles its journey, from royal courts to humble households—so its stories endure.”
