New Delhi: Comedian and television host Bharti Singh has revealed that YouTube now contributes a significant portion of her earnings. In a recent podcast appearance, she said, “60% comes from TV and 40% from YouTube,” noting that she values both mediums equally.
Other television personalities have also begun creating YouTube channels to connect directly with audiences. Archana Puran Singh and her family share daily vlogs, approaching a million subscribers, while actors such as Farah Khan, Rupali Ganguly, Gauahar Khan, and have explored lifestyle, fitness, and behind-the-scenes content.
The trend reflects the growth of India’s creator economy. Neal Mohan, CEO of YouTube, revealed that the platform has paid over Rs 21,000 crore (around $2.5 billion) to Indian content creators, artists, and media companies over the past three years, with a further Rs 850 crore committed over the next two years to support the ecosystem, as per the report.
Singh highlighted that her online presence has become a key part of her career. “If you work honestly on YouTube, it responds with the same dedication and honesty. I can earn in one day on TV what I earn in a month on YouTube. I like both mediums,” she said.
Her television career remains active, with appearances on shows such as Laughter Chefs and The Kapil Sharma Show, alongside hosting reality programmes. Beyond entertainment, Singh runs a mineral water factory in Amritsar. Her net worth is currently estimated at around Rs 25–30 crore, according to the report.
