Brands 'bleed' creativity

New Delhi: Brands have stepped up this world of menstrual hygiene day to shatter the silence, challenge taboos, and encourage people to correct their misconceptions about menstruation through content.

This World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Buzzincontent.com has curated content initiatives by Sirona, Everteen, Pee Safe and Paree.

1) Sirona Hygiene urges to have #TheBloodyConversation

In a campaign titled #TheBloodyConversation, Sirona Hygiene from The Good Glamm Group aimed to dismantle the taboos, ignorance, and stigma surrounding periods, particularly among men and insisted on the necessity of open, unfiltered dialogue.

In this film, men are made to wear a simulator device that replicates period pain each time they answer a period-related question incorrectly.  This experimental film sheds light on the lack of awareness amongst men when it comes to periods, emphasising the importance of open and comfortable conversations about menstrual health.

2) Everteen draws attention towards male ignorance of menstruation

Everteen, a feminine hygiene brand, released findings aligned with this year's MHDay theme of #PeriodFriendlyWorld.

They also debuted a short Hindi film based on real events to emphasise the importance of educating men about menstrual periods.

3) Pee Safe tackles menstrual myths with humour

Pee Safe, a hygiene and wellness brand, noted that 8 in 10 women are silenced by social barriers when it comes to talking about periods.

To address this, Pee Safe released a #PeriodFriendlyWorld film, using humour to engage the public, debunk myths, and foster open discussions about menstrual health.

4) Paree Sanitary Pads launches #EaseHerWorkFlow

On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, Paree Sanitary Pads, a homegrown feminine hygiene brand by Soothe Healthcare, released the film #EaseHerWorkFlow.

The film emphasises the need for supportive actions and normalising discussions about menstruation.

It illustrates how creating a more comfortable and dignified experience for women during menstruation is essential both socially and professionally.

5) Ujaas and Rapper Saniya MQ collaborate for a Rap Anthem promoting menstrual health

Ujaas, at the forefront of menstrual health advocacy led by Advaitesha Birla, collaborated with rapper Saniya MQ to release a song titled "Ye Laal Rang - Periods" on Menstrual Hygiene Day.

This initiative aimed to dismantle societal taboos and dispel misconceptions surrounding menstruation.

Available on both Saniya MQ's and Ujaas' YouTube channels, the rap composition confronts prevailing myths head-on, advocating for a progressive shift towards open dialogue and informed perspectives on menstrual health.

6) Whisper launches 'The Period Song'

Whisper launched 'The Period Song,' featuring Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan

As a part of this initiative, Ghoshal and Chauhan created their version of 'The Period Song' to educate school children about menstruation.
