New Delhi: Facebook has introduced a set of updates covering Feed display, search, navigation and content creation, intended to make the platform less cluttered and easier to use. The company said the changes are designed to help people update profiles more easily, locate relevant posts, and navigate photos and videos with fewer steps.

Facebook is simplifying its Feed layout to make photos, videos and posts more uniform. Multiple images will now appear in a standardised grid, photos can be liked with a double-tap, and tapping into any Feed post will show it in full-screen.

The tab bar is being updated so that commonly used features such as Reels, Friends, Marketplace and Profile appear more prominently. A refreshed menu layout and cleaner notification design are also being introduced.

Search results will begin showing more content in an immersive grid that supports different formats, and Facebook is testing a full-screen viewer for exploring photos and videos without losing one’s place in search.

Users will also be able to provide clearer feedback on posts or Reels they do not want to see, with Facebook stating that more controls for shaping the Feed will roll out over time.

The tools for creating Stories and Feed posts have been redesigned so features such as adding music and tagging friends are easier to locate. More advanced tools, including text backgrounds, remain available. Audience settings and cross-posting controls are now more visible within the composer.

Commenting across Feed, Groups and Reels is also being adjusted, with streamlined replies, clearer badging and pinning options. Facebook says these updates are intended to make conversations easier to follow. Group admins and creators will have additional controls for monitoring discussions, and users can now flag comments anonymously.

Facebook is adding features to surface friends with shared interests directly within a user’s profile. When people update their profile with hobbies, activities or plans, the platform may show connections who have similar interests or relevant experience.

The company says these profile updates are designed to help people understand one another more easily, covering areas such as work, entertainment preferences, hobbies and travel interests. Users can manage who sees these details and whether updates appear in the feed.

Facebook added that further updates are expected in 2026.
