New Delhi: Hyderabad-based entrepreneur Rajive Dhavn has drawn attention online after revealing that he sold a company valued at Rs 15 crore to begin a new career as a content creator at 39. In an Instagram post, Dhavn described his decision as a personal reset rather than a business setback.

“Here’s my story. Built an Rs 15 crore company. Then I chose to start over. This isn’t your typical success story. It’s messier than that,” he wrote. Dhavn recounted early experiences selling sauces to bakeries as a child before taking up retail jobs where he “cleaned racks and folded shirts.”

He went on to say, “Got my first corporate salary at GE, felt on top of the world. The next day, lost my mom. I was 18. Worked at MNCs for years. Then left everything to become a writer. Started What’s In a Name in Hyderabad with a Rs 40,000 loan. Built it into an Rs 15-crore company. 100+ brands. Awards. Recognition.”

Dhavn added that he has now sold all the companies he founded. “Not because I failed. But because I needed to start over. This time, as a content creator. From scratch. At 39.”

His account sparked wide engagement on social media, with many users referring to his decision as courageous and motivating. “This is so inspiring! More and more power to you,” one comment read. Another user wrote, “Truly inspirational. Sharing so much needs courage. More power to you.”

Others pointed to his resilience, including a user who commented, “God! What a story of resilience. I have known you for a very long time and have seen you strive for excellence and success always! Keep shining.”

In his post, Dhavn mentioned that he “failed Class 8 and dropped out after 10th” before later continuing his education. His LinkedIn profile shows he completed his degree at St Mary’s College, Yousufguda, and previously worked at companies including GE and HSBC.
