New Delhi: An Indian travel influencer has drawn attention on social media after posting a video describing how he was stranded in Israel as missile attacks and air raid sirens were reported during the ongoing conflict with Iran.
In a video shared on Instagram titled “Indian stuck alone in Israel during war," Soumil Agarwal documented his experience as a tourist in the country during the escalation.
“I am stuck alone here in Israel during the war, and it's weird to say this, but what a crazy experience. Hopefully, everything will be fine soon,” Agarwal captioned the video.
According to Agarwal, he first realised the situation on February 28 when air raid sirens began sounding across the area, including alerts on his mobile phone while he was staying at a hotel.
“That’s when I found out that the war had begun. For the next few days, the routine was that as soon as a siren went off, you had to run out of your room and head to the bomb shelter,” he said.
Agarwal also described speaking with residents while staying in shelters during alerts. He said many of them expressed confidence in the country’s defence forces, which helped ease his concerns.
“But then, when I started talking to the people here, joking and laughing with them, I became calm too. The people here are very sweet. For the past four days, I haven't felt scared at all, and the positive energy of the people here has made me so positive that instead of Holi, I feel like I'm celebrating Diwali here,” he added.
The video has circulated widely online, drawing reactions from viewers following developments related to the conflict.
According to reports, Iranian ballistic missile strikes since February 28 have resulted in at least 11 deaths in Israel and more than 1,000 injuries. Israeli military officials have also stated that some missiles launched during the attacks carried cluster munitions.
Defence officials believe at least five cluster missiles have been fired towards Israeli territory in recent days, including launches directed at densely populated areas in central Israel. The attacks have caused damage and injuries across multiple locations.
