New Delhi: Instagram has unveiled a new feature aimed at content creators, named "Trial Reels," allowing them to experiment with their content before sharing it with their followers.
This feature will enable creators to post reels that will initially only be visible to users who do not follow them, providing an opportunity to gather feedback and engagement data without impacting their existing audience.
With Trial Reels, creators can assess how new content, genres, or storytelling formats resonate with a broader audience.
After 24 hours, creators can view key performance metrics such as views, likes, comments, and shares.
If a trial reel performs well, they can then choose to share it with their followers or set it to automatically publish based on its success.
The feature began rolling out on December 10, 2024 and is currently available to those with professional accounts on the platform.
Some followers might still encounter the trial reels through direct messages or pages with similar content attributes, but they won't appear in the creator's main feed or profile grid unless shared.
