New Delhi: DotMe has appointed media personality and music curator Nikhil Chinapa as Strategic Advisor, adding a prominent industry voice to the homegrown creator-tech platform as it develops its next phase of products for creators, agencies and brands.
Chinapa began using DotMe earlier this year and expressed interest in the platform’s approach to digital identity and creator workflows. While terms of the partnership were not disclosed, his appointment marks a step in DotMe’s efforts to deepen its links with the wider creator and entertainment ecosystem.
Recognised for his role in shaping India’s electronic music culture, Chinapa co-founded Submerge and has been involved in curating festivals including Sunburn and VH1 Supersonic. His experience across youth culture, entertainment and community-building places him within ongoing shifts in the creator economy.
“DotMe represents what the new India stands for, products built with ambition, clarity, and the ability to scale globally. I believe platforms like these will shape the future of how creators interact with their audiences. I’m excited to join the journey and contribute to taking Indian innovation to the world,” said Nikhil Chinapa, Strategic Advisor, DotMe.
Commenting on Chinapa’s appointment, Harsh Vijaykumar, co-founder, DotMe, said, “Nikhil brings unmatched experience from the entertainment, digital culture, and creator spaces. His belief in building for the world from India aligns deeply with DotMe’s mission. His presence as a Director strengthens our vision and pushes us to innovate even faster.”
The development comes as the global creator economy continues to expand. Industry estimates project the market to grow from USD127.65 billion in 2023 to USD528.39 billion by 2030, with India’s digital content creation segment expected to reach USD4.40 billion over the same period.
Recent research indicates that Indian creators influence more than USD350 billion in annual consumer spending, reflecting the closer links between content, culture and commerce.
