New Delhi: Snapchat has announced a comprehensive monetisation program set to launch in February 2025.
Key features of the program:
Unified revenue streams: Previously, monetisation was split between different features like Stories and Spotlight. Now, creators can earn from ads placed in both, providing a streamlined way to generate income from their content across the platform.
Eligibility criteria: To participate in this program, creators need to meet specific benchmarks:
- Have at least 50,000 followers.
- Post at least 25 times per month to either Saved Stories or Spotlight.
- Be active on the platform by posting to either Spotlight or Public Stories on at least 10 of the last 28 days.
Achieve one of the following metrics in the last 28 days:
- 10 million Snap views,
- 1 million Spotlight views,
- Or 12,000 hours of watch time.
Extended Spotlight monetisation: With Spotlight viewership up by 25% year-over-year, creators can now monetise videos longer than one minute, aligning with the monetisation potential of Stories.
Enhanced creator tools: The program will offer creators more detailed analytics, enabling them to understand their audience better and optimise content for higher engagement and revenue. This includes insights into viewer demographics, interaction rates, and content performance.
Global expansion: While the program is set for a broad rollout, it will initially be available in selected countries, with a full list of eligible countries and more detailed criteria accessible via the Snapchat Creator Hub.
