New Delhi: New Delhi: Influencer and YouTuber Payal Dhare, also known as Payal Gaming, has become the subject of online controversy after a private video began circulating with claims suggesting she was the woman seen in the clip. The video went viral on X, with several users speculating it showed Payal Gaming, though there is no official confirmation.
Reacting to the situation on her Instagram handle, Payal Gaming posted a note addressing the viral clip. She said she had never spoken publicly about something so personal and distressing, but felt compelled to act.
“I never expected to have to speak publicly about something so personal and distressing. Over the past few days, content has been circulated that falsely my name and image with a video currently being shared on digital platforms. I want to state this clearly and without ambiguity: the individual depicted in that video is not me and it has no connection to my life, my choices and my identity,” she said.
She also highlighted the speed at which the video went viral, noting its potential to harm a person beyond their online presence. “I always believed in not reacting to negativity, but this situation demanded immediate action to avoid character attacks and online abuse,” Payal added.
Describing the video as “not just harmless content but a deeply hurtful and dehumanising act,” she said she would take appropriate legal steps. She also requested that the media and the public refrain from sharing the video. Payal concluded by thanking those who supported her during this time.
Who is Payal Gaming and why is she going viral?
According to reports, Payal Dhare, who also goes by the name Payal Gaming, is known for her gameplay videos and live streams. She began her YouTube journey in 2019, posting content for games such as BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India), PUBG, and GTA V. Her interactive style helped her develop a substantial following, and by August 2021, her channel had surpassed 1 million subscribers. She later became the first Indian female gamer to cross 3 million subscribers.
Payal is affiliated with S8UL Esports, one of India’s leading gaming organisations, where she collaborates with other streamers and participates in prominent gaming events. In 2024, she won an international award at the MOBIES (Mobile Gaming Awards), becoming one of India’s first female gamers to achieve such recognition.
The recent controversy arose after screenshots and clips of the alleged video circulated online. Fans of Payal Gaming have urged people not to share unverified material.
