New Delhi: YouTube has announced a major upgrade to its Creator Studio at the annual Made on YouTube 2025 showcase, unveiling a new set of AI-powered features designed to streamline production, expand creative possibilities, and safeguard creators’ identities.
Framing AI as a “trusted companion” for creators, the Google-owned platform positioned the updates as a blend of creative support and protective measures. “Our vision is for these tools to become the ultimate creative partner for every creator, a trusted companion that creators turn to first,” the company said in a blog post.
Smarter optimisation with Title A/B Testing
Optimisation has been enhanced with the rollout of Title A/B Testing, extending the platform’s widely adopted thumbnail testing feature. Creators can now experiment with up to three different combinations of titles and thumbnails, with real-time feedback on viewer engagement. The feature builds on YouTube’s earlier thumbnail experiments, used over 15 million times since 2023, and is designed to help creators fine-tune what drives clicks and watch time.
Protecting creators with Likeness Detection
In a move to counter rising misuse of AI in content, YouTube has expanded Likeness Detection to an open beta for all members of the YouTube Partner Program. The tool scans for unauthorised use of a creator’s face in AI-generated videos, enabling swift takedown requests and giving creators more control over their digital identity.
“Our goal is to build AI technology that empowers human creativity responsibly, and that includes protecting creators and their businesses,” YouTube noted, addressing mounting concerns about deepfakes and online impersonation.
AI as a creative partner
At the heart of the refresh is Ask Studio, a conversational AI assistant built directly into YouTube Studio. It allows creators to ask natural language queries such as “How is my last video performing?” or “What is my community saying about my editing style?” Drawing from personalised analytics, the tool delivers instant insights to help shape strategy and spark new ideas.
YouTube has also expanded the Inspiration Tab, which now generates nine customised video ideas from a simple prompt, backed by data on audience behaviour and potential for virality.
Collaboration and accessibility
To encourage co-creation, YouTube has introduced a Collaborations feature that allows up to five creators to co-own a single video. The content is surfaced across all collaborators’ feeds, giving each access to broader audiences. Revenue attribution remains with the posting channel, balancing exposure with fairness.
Accessibility has also been prioritised with the rollout of Auto Dubbing with Lip Sync, which takes the existing auto-dubbing service for 20 languages a step further. By synchronising dubbed audio with lip movements, the tool aims to deliver a more natural multilingual experience.
