New Delhi: Malaysian YouTuber Logesh Kumaar, known for the Kumaar Family YouTube channel, has announced that he is stepping away from content creation as a full-time career and returning to a regular nine-to-five job, citing financial stability and family responsibilities.

In a recent video, Kumaar addressed speculation about his future, saying the decision was not driven by a loss of interest in creating content but by the practical realities of supporting his family. He acknowledged that relying solely on income from YouTube had not worked out as expected.

Reflecting on his attempt to pursue YouTube full-time, he said, “It was my dream to try YouTube full-time, but in reality, to be honest, I failed.”

In a follow-up video, Kumaar clarified that content creation would continue, but alongside full-time employment rather than as his primary occupation.

“Everyone is saying I said I failed at doing YouTube full-time. That is true. Those are the words I used. But I want to make it absolutely clear that when I said I failed, I meant I failed at doing YouTube full-time. I’ve decided to go back to work, but that doesn’t mean I failed as a YouTuber or at making content. I haven’t given up. I still want to pursue this part-time,” he said.

After deciding to return to full-time work, Kumaar began applying for jobs shortly before his family travelled from the United States to Malaysia. He described undergoing a lengthy recruitment process before securing an offer.

“So I applied for a job and this one company reached out so I started interviewing with them, I did six interview rounds and I was still in America and then there’s two more interview rounds while I was already travelling,” he said.

Accepting the role required the family to relocate from the San Francisco Bay Area to Los Angeles. Kumaar’s wife, Rachel, said the move was challenging, particularly as she already held a stable job. The family has since settled in Culver City, where both Logesh and Rachel are now employed.

Despite stepping back from full-time content creation, Kumaar said the Kumaar Family YouTube channel would continue. He added that reduced financial pressure would allow creativity to return more naturally.

“If I were single, or even just married without kids, I’d probably still be doing YouTube full-time,” he said in his latest video.

“One of the biggest reasons I stepped back is because I want to give my kids a comfortable life. We did make money on YouTube, and we had good brand deals. We lived comfortably, but I wanted more for them. I wanted to invest in their education, their football, their food, and their overall well-being, a life I didn’t have growing up.”

The Kumaar Family YouTube channel, run by Logesh, his wife Rachel and their children Zaden and Kyren, has amassed 793,000 subscribers. The channel features family vlogs that capture their day-to-day life, including adventures, personal moments and humorous content, aiming to entertain and engage viewers with a mix of laughter, emotion and everyday experiences.
