Magic Moments Verve Music CDs launches series of mixology sessions, Tales Behind Cocktails

Magic Moments Verve Music CDs — from the house of Radico Khaitan —has launched a series of mixology sessions ‘Tales Behind Cocktails’, featuring popular mixologists from Delhi-NCR who will divulge secrets of their best creations. Yangdup Lama, one of India’s finest mixologists, was the guest of the first mixology episode of the series, which was released on October 16, 2020 (Friday). During the 20-minute episode, Yangdup Lama — a published author and bar-owner — opened up on his journey and prepared his trademark recipes for all cocktails fans.

The beverage industry has witnessed a surge in cocktail consumers, with the millennials and Gen Z topping the list. The younger generation is a new set of drinkers open to mixing and experimenting with their favourite beverages. This series will enlighten enthusiasts about the various cocktail combinations and innovative mocktails.

“The youth today is willing and open to try new flavours and beverages and not restrict themselves to the basics of cocktails. Tales Behinds Cocktails has been created keeping the new set of drinkers in mind as the series will answer basic queries of cocktail fans and give them an opportunity to know their drinks better,” said Amar Sinha, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Radico Khaitan.

The series, in association with Times Passion trails, will feature restaurateur Ashish Dev Kapur, beverage expert Karina Aggarwal and co-founder of India’s Cocktails and Dreams Speakeasy, and Sidecar, Minakshi Singh. The guests will share the best combination of food and music which goes with the drink they prepare and the story behind the drink. Each episode will be available on the Facebook and Instagram page of Times Passion for cocktail enthusiasts and amateur bartenders.

*November 6, 2020 (Friday): Minakshi Singh, co-founder of India’s Cocktails and Dreams Speakeasy, and Sidecar, number 40 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars, and has lived and breathed hospitality for most of her working life

Tales Behind Cocktails will give a glimpse into the journey of some of the top mixologists of the country, who will not only disclose their experience of taking up their passion as a career but also throw some light on the beverage industry, best of cocktail recipes and the inspiration behind their famed drinks.
