YouTube has launched reactions for live streams with an aim to enhance its community experience. It is believed that this is an extension of the platform’s experiment with ‘timed reactions’ on long-form videos.

With this, the viewers will not just be able to react but also observe how others are reacting during specific duration of the live stream. In fact, the channels eligible for live streaming will have reactions enabled by default, but creators will have the option to disable the same through Live Control Panel.

The Live Control Panel will also allow creators to get a hold of their stream statistics and ad serving capabilities in a smaller display space.

As per reports, viewers watching a YouTube stream on an iOS device will be able to react in real time by selecting from various reactions and that the creators or viewers will only be able to see the reactions and not the actual users behind them as anonymity will be maintained.

Moreover, the video sharing and streaming platform has also introduced two new content creators-friendly features as well, including Ads automation and providing audience insights like types of content that viewers watch in order to help the creators manage their live streams more efficiently and effectively.

While the Ads automation feature is optional as it allows YouTube to determine the best time to insert mid-roll ads during a stream, the creators can also take their final call as to when they want to insert mid-roll ads manually.

Additionally, to help creators make informed decisions about the formats they publish or experiment with, YouTube has also launched the trial of Top Format card that displays data about the type of videos that the particular creator’s viewers are watching elsewhere- albeit videos, shorts, and live streams.
