New Delhi: The Indian gaming and esports community is mourning the death of Tahir “TahirFuego” Mukhtar, a prominent Free Fire player and content creator, who passed away at the age of 24 on January 31, 2026.
He was discovered in critical condition at a GodLike Esports bootcamp in Navi Mumbai and later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, as per the news reports.

Tahir gained recognition in India’s competitive Free Fire scene, playing for organisations including Nigma Galaxy and GodLike Esports. He earned acclaim for his gameplay, competitive achievements, and engaging online presence.
His tournament successes included a first-place finish at Rumble in the Jungle Week 2 and podium placements at events such as the Villager Esports Winter Masters and the Free Fire India Championship 2021 Fall. Later, he built a loyal following as a content creator, sharing gameplay insights and streaming regularly.
News of his death quickly spread on social media, with fans, fellow players, and creators offering condolences and sharing tributes. Gaming influencer Payal Gaming (Payal Dhare) and numerous others posted messages expressing grief and highlighting the positive impact Tahir had on aspiring players.
