New Delhi: A 45-year-old woman of Punjabi origin, identified as YouTuber Nancy Grewal, was stabbed to death in Ontario, Canada, according to news reports.
The incident took place on the night of March 3 in LaSalle, near Windsor. According to reports citing the LaSalle Police Service, officers and paramedics responded to a call about a stabbing shortly before 9:30 pm local time in the 2400 block of Todd Lane.
First responders reportedly found Grewal with stab wounds at the scene. She was taken to hospital by Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services but later died from her injuries, police said, according to reports.
Investigators cordoned off two homes along Todd Lane between Canada Street and Bishop Street the following morning. Evidence markers were placed along a concrete pathway and near the steps leading to the entrance of one of the houses as part of the investigation, according to reports.
As per the news reports, Police stated that they are continuing to investigate the homicide and expressed condolences to Grewal’s family and friends. According to reports, authorities also indicated that the case is being treated as an isolated incident.
Officials have requested anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Sergeant Jamie Nestor of the LaSalle Police Service. Residents in the surrounding area have also been asked to share any surveillance footage that could assist investigators.
Grewal was active on social media and often commented on political and social developments related to Punjab.
According to reports, she had previously spoken about the death of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, also known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, in Bathinda last year.
