New Delhi: Comedian Samay Raina made headlines at the premiere of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba**ds of Bollywood, held on Wednesday at Mumbai’s NMACC.
Raina drew attention for wearing a T-shirt that read “Say no to cruise,” a reference widely interpreted in connection with Aryan Khan’s 2021 arrest on the Cordelia Empress cruise ship.
The reference harks back to October 2021, when Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan, was detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) during a raid on the cruise ship. Several others were also arrested after drugs were allegedly discovered at the party. The incident attracted extensive media coverage and public debate at the time.
The premiere marked Aryan Khan’s entry into the film industry as a director and was attended by a host of celebrities, including Bobby Deol, Karan Johar, Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Ashutosh Gowariker, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Arshad Warsi. Shah Rukh Khan attended with his wife Gauri Khan and their children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam, showing support for Aryan’s directorial venture.
