Popular YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav reassured fans of his and his family’s safety following a shocking gunfire attack on his residence in Gurugram’s Sector 57 early Sunday morning, August 17, 2025.

The incident, which involved three masked assailants firing over two dozen rounds, has sparked widespread concern and prompted a police investigation.

According to Gurugram Police, the attack occurred between 5:30 and 6:00 AM when three bike-borne individuals opened fire outside Yadav’s home, targeting the ground and first floors.

Elvish, who resides on the second and third floors, was not at home during the incident, and no injuries were reported among family members or the caretaker present at the time.

“We heard a sound around 5:30 in the morning. When we came outside and looked, we saw that bullets had been fired here,” said Ram Avtar Yadav, Elvish’s father, in a statement to ANI. He noted that CCTV footage captured two assailants clearly, with a possible third involved.

On Monday, August 18, Elvish took to Instagram Stories to address the incident, writing, “I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for your good wishes. My family and I are safe and well. Your kind thoughts and concern are truly appreciated. Thank you.”

The Gurugram Police have launched a detailed probe, collecting forensic evidence and reviewing CCTV footage from the area. Sandeep Kumar, PRO of Gurugram Police, confirmed, “Three masked miscreants opened fire outside the residence of YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav in Gurugram’s Sector 57. The incident took place at around 5:30 AM. More than a dozen rounds were fired.”

Authorities are awaiting a formal complaint from the Yadav family to file an FIR and proceed with legal action.

A social media post allegedly from the Portugal-based Himanshu Bhau gang claimed responsibility for the attack, accusing Elvish of promoting illegal betting apps. The post, featuring a two-gun graphic and the text “BHAU GANG SINCE 2020,” stated, “Today, a shooting took place at ELVISH YADAV’s house. It was carried out by NEERAJ FARIDPUR and BHAU RITOLIYA. He has destroyed a lot of homes by promoting illegal betting apps.” The authenticity of the post remains unverified, but police are investigating the claim seriously.

The incident has raised alarms about the safety of public figures in India, with fans and influencers expressing concern on X. One user remarked, “Celebrating Hindu fests to fearlessly EXPOSING anti-Hindu ecosystem, Elvish has earned both Love & ENEMIES. Prayers for his safety.” Another criticized local authorities, stating, “The Delhi government should first focus on controlling the growing crime in Delhi.”

Elvish Yadav, a prominent YouTuber with millions of followers, rose to fame after winning Bigg Boss OTT 2 and has since appeared in reality shows like Roadies XX and Laughter Chefs 2, where he won alongside Karan Kundrra. However, his career has not been without controversy, including a 2023 arrest related to allegations of supplying snake venom at rave parties, from which he was later granted bail.
