New Delhi: Uttarakhand-based YouTuber and blogger Saurabh Joshi has received a threatening email demanding a ransom of Rs 5 crore, according to the news report. The email, reportedly sent in the name of the “Bhau Gang,” also included threats of violence if the ransom was not paid.
Joshi, a resident of Rampur Road in Haldwani, filed a complaint with the Kotwali police station on September 15, seeking protection ahead of his upcoming wedding.
Haldwani SP City Prakash Chandra confirmed that police have begun a thorough investigation into the matter. The gang leader named in the email is allegedly “Chhota Don,” reportedly active in Delhi.
This is not the first time Joshi has faced threats. Last year, he received intimidating letters allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, although the investigation revealed the sender acted independently and was arrested within 24 hours. The YouTuber has also faced theft at his home and had to address controversial remarks made on his blog.
Police are continuing their inquiry into the recent email, and Joshi has reportedly requested increased security measures as a precaution. According to the news report, the threats have caused significant concern for Joshi and his family.
