Centre to announce National Creators' Awards to recognise new-age influencers, creators

Government officials disclosed on Friday that plans are underway to unveil the National Creators' Awards, aiming to acknowledge the contributions of influencers and creators.

The sources remarked that the awards are modeled after the National Film Awards, which celebrate cinematic achievements across diverse languages and genres.

Primarily targeting the tech-savvy "Gen Z" demographic deeply engaged with online platforms, the awards will encompass nearly 20 categories, as per the sources.

Notably, individuals prominent on social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram will vie for recognition among the contenders.

Among the categories, there will be a special segment dedicated to individuals fostering the global dissemination of the nation's soft power and cultural heritage, officials revealed.

Additionally, prospective categories may encompass awards such as "green champions", "swachhta ambassadors", "agro creators" and "tech creators".
