McDonald’s India – North and East along with MTV India, the youth entertainment brand from Viacom18, is all set to release the second episode of McDonald’s i’m lovin’ it Live.

The episode will feature Punjabi singer-composer Guru Randhawa and playback singer Nikhita Gandhi. The two have come together to present a groovy duet inspired by Guru’s memory of his school crush. The song titled ‘Illusion’ is written and composed by Guru.

The episode will air on April 21 at 7 pm on MTV.

McDonald’s i'm lovin’ it Live with MTV’s upcoming stellar artist collaborations will include Armaan Malik with OAFF, Arjun Kanungo with Gravity, and Srushti Tawade.

The lyrics narrate Guru’s recollection of his school crush where he imagines a hypothetical conversation, he could never have with her, and composed in his feel-good style, vibe with a perfect upbeat tempo, in a duet with Nikhita Gandhi, which has been produced by Sanjoy Deb.

Anant Agarwal, Vice-Chairman, McDonald’s India – North and East, said, “Both Guru and Nikhita are super talented and gifted singers and we are excited to have them in McDonald’s i'm lovin’ it Live. Their track is a perfect reflection of the vibe that Gen Z craves for, and the episode promises to be an exciting journey for fans to get to know the artists on a more personal level. We're thrilled to bring together such talented artists to create a show that celebrates the universal language of music, and feel-good experiences for McDonald’s fans.”

Randhawa, said, “The very first thought that struck my mind after hearing about this was - Let's do it! It was an instant yes for this exceptional collaboration, and I didn’t give it a second thought. I am extremely happy to be a part of this with my dear friend Nikhita. The track that we have worked on together - Illusion is a wonderful Punjabi post-house record, the first of its kind. So excited for the world to hear it!”

Gandhi shared, ‘I’m elated to be working with Guru on this eclectic Punjabi track on i’m lovin’ it Live. As someone who enjoys singing English pop and jazz stuff apart from Bollywood, I was so excited to get on board with this record and fuse Guru’s classic banger Punjabi tunes to my western influences! He’s so much fun to be around and it’s weird that we only met after Naach Meri Rani on a flight back from LA. We finally got something to jam on together and i’m lovin’ it.”

Merrill Sequeira, Programming Head, MTV Beats, said, “i’m lovin’ it Live is a one-of-its-kind creative concept that synergises diverse musical influences and cultural nuances in an unprecedented way. We are happy to partner with McDonald’s India to create this unique musical experience that will see India’s finest musicians collaborate to create melodious compositions.”

Anshul Ailawadi, Business Head, Youth, Music and English Entertainment Cluster, Viacom18 said, “We are happy to see the concept and the show coming to life for viewers and music lovers. The genre-defying collaborations will be an unprecedented listening experience for fans who love discovering new music.”

Fans can catch the show every Friday on MTV, and the social media handles of McDonald's India - North and East and MTV.
