Twitter’s ‘Super Follows’ initiative for creators has now been relaunched as ‘Subscriptions’ program in the USA, and it comes with reduced eligibility requirements.

With the relaunch, the creators interested in applying for the initiative need to be at least 18 years of age, have a follower base of minimum 500 individuals and should have put out 25 tweets in the past 30 days.

Once selected for the program, creators will have the option to charge $2.99, $4.99, or $9.99 per month for anyone to have access to their exclusive content. Moreover, Twitter creators will also be eligible to get paid up to 97%* of the revenue that Twitter has earned from selling access to the Creator’s Subscriptions, after in-app purchase fees, until one reach $50,000 in lifetime earnings from Twitter across all Twitter monetisation products.

However, once a creator reaches the $50,000 mark, one would only be paid up to 80% the revenue generated by Twitter, after in-app purchase fees.

Earlier on, under the ‘Super Follows’ initiative, Twitter users needed to have at least 10,000 followers to be eligible for the program. As of now too, some of the Twitter elements still show up the earlier limit of 10,000 followers, which has now changed to 5,000.

Replying to one of the tweets on the rollout of the same outside the US, Elon Musk, CEO of the microblogging platform revealed that they are ‘working on it.

The perks of ‘Subscriptions’ include having special ‘Badges’ for recognition with labels that simplify chatting and connecting with the creators that one has subscribed along with various types of ‘Bonus Content’ such as unscripted thoughts, ideas, opinions with extra Tweets and personal replies.

Sharing more information about the program, Musk also tweeted that the microblogging platform will be keeping ‘none’ of the money for the next one year.

“You will receive whatever money we receive, so that’s 70% for subscriptions on iOS and Android (they charge 30%) and ~92% on web (could be better, depending on payment processor),” he tweeted.

He also added that after the completion of the first year, iOS and Android fees drop to 15% and that the microblogging platform will add a small amount on top of that, depending on volume.

“We will also help promote your work. Our goal is to maximise creator prosperity. At any point, you can leave our platform and take your work with you. Easy in, easy out,” he tweeted.
