YouTube has recently announced the rollout of support for multi-language audio tracks on the video sharing platform, allowing creators to dub both new and existing content in order to reach international audiences.

As per a blog post by the company, this feature was being tested by MrBeast and a small group of creators over the year gone by.

“In our early tests with just a handful of creators, we’ve already seen over 3,500 multi-language videos uploaded in over 40 languages,” it mentioned.

According to a report released by TechCrunch, this feature will be supported only on YouTube’s long-form content initially and it is still being tested for the short-form content on the video platform.

“The option to adjust a video’s audio track, meanwhile, will be rolled out globally to all of YouTube, where it will be available across desktop, mobile, tablets and TVs,” the report mentioned.

YouTube also went on to emphasise that the latest feature of multi-language audio essentially means that the viewers will now be able to watch videos dubbed in their primary language, introducing them to even more content that they otherwise may not have seen.

“For our creators, we hope this feature helps you expand your global reach and find a new audience for your channel!” it mentioned.

It is also to be noted that the eligible creators who will be gaining access to this feature will be notified with an invite as of now and once they are in, they’ll be able to use the new option in Creator Studio.

Furthermore, YouTube in its blog post, also highlighted that the platform witnessed that the creators testing multi-language dubbed videos saw over 15% of their watch time coming from views in the video's non-primary language and that on average, viewers watched over 2 million hours of dubbed video on a daily basis in January on a standalone basis.
