New Delhi: AI platform Perplexity has appeared in two creator collaborations within a week, signalling a growing focus on influencer-driven integrations.
The most recent features YouTuber CarryMinati, who plays on Gen Z internet slang in a light-hearted exchange with Delhi University professor Vijender Chauhan, better known online as Maasijeevi.
The video opens with CarryMinati taking part in a mock civil services interview, a format that has made Chauhan a social media fixture. What follows is a humorous exchange filled with contemporary slang, including “rizz,” “aura farming,” and “delulu.”
The conversation culminates in CarryMinati calling Chauhan a “boomer,” then using Perplexity to define the term in Hindi. The AI platform’s male voiceover delivers the translation, providing an unexpected comedic twist.
While there is no mention of Airtel in the video’s caption, CarryMinati references the telecom provider’s offer within the content itself. Earlier this year, Airtel announced a partnership with Perplexity to provide its customers with a complimentary 12-month subscription to Perplexity Pro.
This follows another collaboration with content creator Apoorva, also known as The Rebel Kid, who recounted using Perplexity during a medical emergency while travelling abroad. Her video, created in association with Airtel, mentioned the process of activating the free subscription through the Airtel Thanks app.
The influencer-led push comes as Perplexity continues to expand its presence in India. By engaging creators with established online credibility, particularly among younger audiences, the platform is positioning itself within everyday digital conversations rather than through traditional advertising.
