New Delhi: Comedian and content creator Tanmay Bhat has found himself back in the social media spotlight after a report claimed he is India’s richest YouTuber with an estimated net worth of Rs 665 crore.
The report, published by Tech Informer and based on data from MyJar Blog, placed Bhat at the top of the list, followed by Technical Guruji and Samay Raina.
When Bhat found himself in the news over his reported net worth, with everyone speculating whether he really has that kind of money, he responded in true creator fashion, by releasing a tongue-in-cheek Instagram reel featuring several well-known creators, turning the buzz into a moment of playful, self-aware humour.
The video includes appearances by Balraj Singh Ghai, Apoorva (the.rebel.kid), Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps), Samay Raina (maisamayhoon), Aaditya Kulshreshth (kullubaaazi), Nikhil Kamath (nikhilkamathcio), Ravi Gupta (shudhdesicomic), Rhea Chakraborty, Ankur Warikoo, Arpit Bala, and the team from Indie Habitat, among others.
In the reel, the creators playfully debate Bhat’s supposed fortune, joking about everything from private shuttles and luxury breakfasts to long-term SIPs. The exaggerated reactions mirror the kind of online frenzy that often surrounds creator economy figures and their perceived success.
Even before posting the video, Bhat had already responded to the online chatter. Reacting to a post by RVCJ Media on X (formerly Twitter), he commented, “Bhai itne paise hote toh main YouTube membership nahi bech raha hota,” translating to, “If I had that much money, would I still be selling YouTube memberships?”
