New Delhi: Ajay Mehta has stepped down as Head of Branded Content and Creative Services at WPP Media, bringing an 11-year innings at WPP to a close.

Sources told BuzzInContent.com that he quit in October 2025.

Mehta was elevated to the role in August 2024, where he led content strategy and brand partnerships for WPP Media clients, building on his long association with the network’s content business.

Before moving into the WPP Media India mandate, he served as Chief Content Officer at Mindshare, where he was responsible for content strategy and branded partnerships across the agency’s India portfolio.

Mehta joined Mindshare in 2015 as Vice-President and was promoted to Senior Vice-President in 2020, before taking over as Chief Content Officer in 2023.

Colleagues credit him with helping build and scale the branded-content vertical first at Mindshare and then at GroupM, now positioned within WPP’s Media operations.

Across a career spanning more than two decades in marketing communications and strategy, Mehta has worked with agencies such as Ogilvy, Mindshare and Publicis India, crafting content-led and integrated campaigns for brands across FMCG, telecom, retail, financial services, auto and technology.
