Prasar Bharati has launched ‘Creator’s Corner’, a new programming initiative on DD News designed to showcase original content from digital creators across the country.

Unveiled on January 9, the platform will provide a national stage for reels, short-form videos, and digital stories spanning genres such as travel, food, culture, education, health, art, and technology. The programme will air Monday to Friday at 7 PM on DD News, with repeat telecasts at 9:30 AM the following morning.

Speaking at the launch, Union Minister for Information Technology and Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, called 2026 a “year of major reforms” for Prasar Bharati and public broadcasting. He highlighted the initiative as the first step in the broadcaster’s restructuring to better align with industry trends, technology, and new-generation creators.

He also cited the success of the government’s WAVES platform, which has already helped empower one crore youth and catalyse Rs 5,000 crore in economic activity through digital content creation.

MoS for I&B L Murugan underscored how Creator’s Corner reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the Orange Economy, a term denoting the creative and cultural industries. “Young creators from smaller towns are building livelihoods through content without needing large studios. Now, with Doordarshan, they gain access to a national and even global platform,” he said.

Ministry Secretary Sanjay Jaju added that Creator’s Corner is not just about visibility but about recognising creators as “complete content makers,” moving beyond passive consumption to foster a vibrant and responsible creator ecosystem. The content, curated from across India in multiple languages and formats, will eventually be extended to other Doordarshan channels.

The show will feature 4–6 pieces of creator content in every episode and aims to provide creators with both credibility and unmatched reach. By partnering with everyday digital storytellers, Prasar Bharati hopes to energise younger audiences and reshape public broadcasting through diverse, youth-driven narratives.

Interested creators can apply to be featured by submitting their videos to ddnews.creatorscorner@gmail.com or contacting +91-8130555806.
